Alternative Therapies Improve Health or “Hocus Pocus”?

I have been interested in alternative therapies for over a decade and this inquisitiveness has found me experimenting with various therapies which some may call “Hocus Pocus”. Although some therapies may seem a little “out there” I have benefited immensely. I would like to share with you my thoughts on alternative therapies which may help you decide to open your mind and give alternative therapies a go.

What exactly is alternative therapy? Alternative therapy is chosen by many as a source of mind or body healing without the use of traditional medicines. Used by those that don’t want the side effects that may go hand in hand with traditional medicines or it can be used in conjunction with traditional medicine. In fact I believe both can work in harmony together.

What can alternative therapy be used for? Although not a comprehensive list here are just a few uses although I am sure you could come up with more:

  • Body pain and aches
  • Weight loss
  • Weight gain
  • Quit smoking
  • Depression
  • Anxiety
  • Relaxing
  • Stress relief

So what is classified as an alternative therapy?

  • Naturopathy
  • Homeopathy
  • Chiropractic
  • Herbal medicines
  • Various Religious healings
  • Acupuncture
  • Reflexology
  • Kinesiology
  • Reiki
  • Crystal healing
  • Light healing
  • Hypnosis
  • NLP – Neuro linguistic programming
  • EFT – tapping
  • Meditation
  • Massage
  • Yoga
  • Qi Gong
  • Tai chi
  • Exercise
  • Diet ( yes I believe healthy food is an alternative therapy, as you will be surprised how with feeding your body what it needs instead of junk, how much better your body will run with decreasing aches and pains due to less inflammation).

Yes I have, at some time, used all of the above and they each have been of benefit. Recently I had amazing results with meditation and EFT for clearing childhood traumas. The recent release has assisted in preventing the need to binge eat which is allowing me to stick to a healthy eating regime reducing inflammation as well as reducing body fat.

If you are struggling with something in your life that is affecting your health I challenge you to research any of those therapies and you will find many who have had positive results so why not you? What have you got to lose?
